AUD and ISC overlap in control logic. For example, both care about authorization, segregation of duties, evidence, and monitoring. ISC applies those ideas to information systems: user access, change management, data protection, incident response, and service organization controls.

At fictional Cloudmere Services, a candidate who struggled with AUD reports still enjoys mapping access risks. She understands that terminated users should be removed promptly, privileged access should be reviewed, and system changes should be approved and tested. ISC may fit her. Another candidate passed AUD only through memorizing reports and hates technology concepts. ISC may feel rough.
